Dear Mr. Salopek,
I hope you have a safe journey. You are one of the bravest people I know. You are about to start a journey that no one has ever tried. You may be having worries and second thoughts at this time, but because you’ve spoken to us at our school I know you have the courage to complete this journey. There may times during the journey when you may want to give up. Keep going. This trip has many dangers, but I trust that you have the intelligence to get yourself out of them.
