Splitting the walk route into segments allows for comparison of such characteristics as population density, elevation, slope, and sinuosity. This map examines the first two overland legs of the journey: Herto Bouri, Ethiopia to Tadjoura, Djibouti; and Jeddah to Umluj, Saudi Arabia. As future segments of the walk are completed, a body of similar comparisons will be assembled.
