Paul Salopek

Paul Salopek was born in the United States and raised in Mexico. As a writer and journalist, he has traveled to more than 50 countries and has earned two Pulitzer Prizes for his reporting on human genetics and war in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Paul has worked as a commercial fisherman in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, mined gold in Australia, and managed a cattle ranch in Mexico. He was a Nieman Fellow at Harvard University and taught journalism at Princeton University.
